Dedon

Outdoor Lounge Dining Bespoke

Dedon defined the modern outdoor furniture category. Founded in Lüneburg, Germany in 1990 and produced by master weavers in Cebu, Philippines, the brand pioneered all-weather woven fiber as a structural material — collaborating with Richard Frinier, Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, Sebastian Herkner and Edward Barber & Jay Osgerby on collections that treat the terrace as the equal of the living room. Via della Seta sources Dedon directly from the factory for villa, penthouse and hospitality projects in Europe and the Middle East — handling specification, freight, customs and white-glove installation under one contract.

Why specify Dedon for an outdoor project

Dedon outdoor furniture occupies a specific position in the luxury garden and patio market: hand-woven shells in a proprietary all-weather fiber, engineered to behave like a structural material rather than a decorative cover. The result is sculpted lounge chairs, daybeds, dining sets and hanging cocoons that withstand year-round conditions — without the maintenance overhead of teak, the corrosion risk of steel or the brittleness of low-grade resin weave.

For residential and hospitality projects this combination is the reason architects and interior designers specify Dedon over generic patio furniture: the silhouettes register as architecture rather than garden product, and the service life is closer to indoor furniture than to outdoor. Reference pieces — Mbrace, Tibbo, Caladio and the iconic Nestrest hanging lounger — recur across coastal villas, mountain chalets, urban penthouses and boutique resort projects worldwide.

Via della Seta sources every Dedon collection — Seashell, Tibbo, Caladio, MDear, Mu, Mbrace, Nestrest, SeaX and the rest — directly from the manufacturer in Cebu, Philippines. We coordinate the order with the rest of your FF&E specification, manage ocean or air freight, customs clearance and white-glove delivery, and consolidate Dedon outdoor furniture into a single project shipment alongside kitchens, lighting, indoor furniture and smart home — under one contract and one timeline.

Care & Maintenance

Dedon Fiber

Wash with mild soap and water once or twice a season. No special coatings or sealants required. Use a soft brush for stubborn stains; avoid abrasive cleaners and high-pressure washers at close range.

Teak Elements

Untreated teak weathers to a silver-grey patina, structurally identical to the original honey tone. If you prefer the warm colour, apply teak oil once or twice per year. The colour shift is purely aesthetic.

Cushions & Fabrics

Solution-dyed acrylic resists UV fade and mould. Most collections have machine-washable covers. Store cushions during extended winters or use breathable covers — never seal in plastic, since trapped moisture is what destroys outdoor textiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Dedon furniture be left outside year-round?

Yes. DEDON fiber is engineered for permanent outdoor installation — it withstands UV, salt air, humidity and freeze-thaw cycles without degrading. Cushions can be left out in most climates; in heavy-snowfall or extended-rain seasons most projects bring them indoors or use breathable weather covers.

What is DEDON fiber and how does it differ from standard outdoor resin weave?

DEDON fiber is a proprietary co-extruded material — a structural core wrapped in a UV-stable, colour-fast outer layer — woven by hand in the Philippines. Unlike standard resin rattan, it holds a three-dimensional sculptural form rather than lying flat, which is what gives collections like Mbrace and Seashell their architectural silhouette.

Do Dedon collections include bespoke fabric options?

Yes. Most collections offer an extensive fabric program — solution-dyed acrylic, performance textiles and, for hospitality projects, contract-grade options rated for heavy use. Bespoke colourways are available for larger orders; Via della Seta handles specification directly with the factory.

What lead times should I plan for a Dedon order?

Standard in-stock configurations are 6–10 weeks ex-factory. Bespoke fabrics, finishes or large hospitality volumes extend this to 14–22 weeks. Via della Seta coordinates Dedon lead times with your full FF&E schedule so all pieces arrive on site together.

Can Via della Seta consolidate Dedon with other brands in one shipment?

Yes — this is the core of what we do. We place orders with Dedon and all other specified brands, align production schedules, consolidate into a single container or airfreight consignment, manage customs and deliver to site. One contract, one point of contact, one delivery window.
