This privacy policy explains how Via della Seta (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit viadellaseta.design or contact us by email, phone or contact form. We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What data we collect
2.1 Data you submit via the contact form
When you complete the contact form on our website we collect: your name, company or studio name, work email, role, country and project location, and the contents of your message. Submitting the form is voluntary; without this information we cannot process your inquiry.
2.2 Data you provide by email, phone or WhatsApp
If you contact us directly via email, telephone or WhatsApp we process the contact information you provide and the contents of the conversation for the purpose of answering your inquiry and managing the project.
2.3 Server log data
Our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages) automatically processes technical data when you visit the site — IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, date and time of access. This data is processed solely to operate the website securely, prevent abuse and produce aggregated, anonymous usage statistics. Log data is retained by the hosting provider in accordance with its standard retention periods.
3. Why we process your data
- To respond to your inquiry and to prepare a project-specific quote.
- To manage the procurement, freight and delivery of items you order.
- To send you essential information about your active project (status updates, invoices, customs documentation).
- To comply with legal obligations under Swiss tax and accounting law.
- To protect our website against abuse and security incidents.
The legal basis under GDPR is Article 6(1)(b) (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures), Article 6(1)(c) (legal obligations) and Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest in operating the website securely). Under Swiss law the processing is based on the equivalent grounds under the revFADP.
4. Sharing your data
We share your data only with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary:
- Manufacturers and suppliers we order from on your behalf — to place orders, coordinate production and arrange delivery.
- Freight forwarders, customs brokers and installers — to transport, clear and install ordered items at the project site.
- Tax authorities and accountants — to comply with Swiss accounting and tax obligations.
- IT service providers we use to operate this website (Cloudflare for hosting and DNS) under appropriate data-processing agreements.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising purposes.
5. International transfers
Where we share data with manufacturers, freight forwarders or installers located outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA, we do so on the basis of EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards required by Swiss data protection law.
6. Retention
Inquiry data is retained for as long as necessary to answer your inquiry and, if a project follows, for the duration of the contract plus the statutory retention period (10 years under Swiss accounting law for transaction records). Data submitted but not followed by a project is deleted within 24 months.
7. Your rights
You have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its processing and, where applicable, to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, write to info@viadellaseta.design. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC, edoeb.admin.ch) or, in the EU, with your national supervisory authority.
8. Cookies and tracking
This website uses only essential cookies required for the site to function. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies or third-party tracking. For details see our Cookie Policy.
9. Security
The website is served exclusively over HTTPS. We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect personal data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No transmission over the internet is, however, fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The version published on this page is always the current one. The “last updated” date below indicates when the policy was last revised.
