Arclinea

Kitchen Antonio Citterio Steel & Wood Made in Italy

Arclinea brings the discipline of the professional kitchen into the home. Founded in 1925 in Caldogno, near Vicenza, and designed since 1987 by a single hand — architect Antonio Citterio — the brand built its reputation on stainless steel, natural wood and stone, and on layouts engineered the way a chef would want them. The flagship Italia system, with its patented recessed handle, set the template; Convivium put a solid-wood table at the heart of the kitchen, and the newest Thea system splits the working and social kitchen. Part of the Flos B&B Italia Group, Arclinea is one of the few luxury kitchen houses defined by one designer over decades. Via della Seta sources Arclinea directly for residential and hospitality projects across the United States — handling specification, freight, customs and white-glove installation under one contract.

Why specify Arclinea for an interior project

Arclinea is the choice when a kitchen needs professional rigour and a single, coherent design hand. Antonio Citterio has designed every current collection since 1987, so the whole catalog composes — finishes, handles, proportions and accessories share one logic. The engineering is genuinely professional-grade: stainless steel worktops and sinks, integrated extraction, generous storage and ergonomics drawn from commercial kitchens, brought into a refined residential register.

It is also a natural-material, architectural house. Citterio pairs steel with solid wood and stone — oak and walnut veneers, marble worktops, the Gola aluminum door profile — and the systems scale from a single linear run to a full island-plus-table social kitchen. Collections like Convivium build a solid-wood dining table into the island; Thea separates a working 'wet' kitchen from a 'show' kitchen, which suits open-plan living where the kitchen is on display.

Via della Seta sources Arclinea directly. We work from the spec — collection, layout, fronts, worktop material and finish — confirm the made-to-order build, manage ocean or air freight, US customs clearance and white-glove installation, and consolidate the Arclinea package with the rest of your specification (furniture, lighting, smart home) under one contract and one timeline.

Care & maintenance

Stainless steel

Arclinea's signature steel worktops and sinks clean with a soft cloth along the grain and a mild detergent; avoid abrasive pads and chloride cleaners. Steel develops a soft patina of fine marks with use, which is normal for a working surface.

Wood & lacquer fronts

Wipe wood veneers and lacquer fronts with a soft, barely damp cloth and dry immediately; avoid solvents, abrasives and steam directly on the fronts. Keep the Gola aluminum profile clean for smooth handle-free opening.

Stone & appliances

Seal and clean natural stone per the stone type and wipe marble promptly after acidic contact. Service integrated appliances and extraction per their manufacturers, and keep runners and recessed handles clean for long, smooth operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who designs Arclinea?

Architect Antonio Citterio has been Arclinea's sole designer and art director since 1987, and is the author of essentially every current collection — Italia, Convivium, Lignum et Lapis, Thea and others. That single-hand continuity over decades is the brand's defining feature: the whole catalog shares one design logic, finishes and proportions, so the pieces compose.

Is Arclinea part of Poliform?

No. Arclinea is not part of Poliform — that is a common misconception. Arclinea, founded in 1925 in Caldogno, has been part of the Flos B&B Italia Group since December 2018 (B&B Italia became its major shareholder in 2016). Poliform is a separate group and owns the Varenna kitchen brand, not Arclinea. We supply both.

Can I buy Arclinea in the United States through Via della Seta?

Yes. Via della Seta sources Arclinea directly from Italy for residential and hospitality projects across the United States — including luxury residences in California, Florida, New York and Texas, and hospitality interiors nationwide. We handle specification, the made-to-order build, ocean or air freight, US customs clearance and white-glove installation.

What makes Arclinea's kitchens 'professional'?

The engineering is drawn from commercial kitchens: stainless steel worktops and sinks, integrated extraction, generous storage and chef-led ergonomics, brought into a refined residential register. The flagship Italia system introduced a patented built-in recessed handle, and steel is a brand signature alongside natural wood and stone.

What is the Convivium kitchen?

Convivium is Arclinea's 'socialising kitchen' — a work island with a large built-in solid-wood table at its center, designed to make the kitchen the gathering point of the home rather than a separate work zone. It is one of the clearest expressions of Citterio's idea that the kitchen is a place to be together, not just to cook.

What are typical Arclinea lead times for projects in the US?

Cataloged collections and finishes generally ship 12–18 weeks ex-Italy; special stone and wood selection, Vintage or PVD stainless steel and large island-plus-table layouts run 16–22 weeks. Because every kitchen is built to order, we recommend confirming the plan and spec at least 5 months before the install date so production, freight and US customs clearance fit comfortably inside the schedule.
